Moving to London in 1992, Paul started a course in audio-visual design and quickly realised he’d like to be a photographer. He worked as an assistant at Click Studio and then as a freelance assistant for fashion photographers including David Sims and Cindy Palmano. His first job as a photographer was a portrait of Tommy Hilfiger for Harpers Bazaar in America, and since then he’s worked for many publications including i-D, The Face, Arena, W Magazine, Self Service, The Sunday Telegraph, The Sunday Times and Suddeutsche Magazine (Germany). Paul’s advertising work includes the perfume and eyewear campaigns for Yohji Yamamoto; his personal work includes landscapes and a series of gardens.
